When is enough enough? Yes, the prices are great…the stores are big and the selection is endless and in some cases…24/7! When WAL-MART moves in and shuts down mom and pop shops from east to west offering prices that no one can compete with. Creating ghost town after ghost town… where will it end? When will it stop? How can you compete with offers people simply cannot refuse? This argument has been fought and lost for years and beat to death many times over.
The little guys need to ban together and stop feeding the mother host. The question is …should we stop buying WAL-Mart products for one day…one week….one month? Will that even make a difference? Honestly, you really can’t compete with a store where you can buy a 50 pound bag of sod, replacement windshield wipers, rubber doggie toys, dollar bin movies of Betty Boop and Ben Hur and shitty pressed wood end tables AND not spend more than $100! Whatta Bahgan!
Here is a little experiment…This might be tough I know. However, when check day arrives at the end of the month, go somewhere else for a change. Just for one day use your heart instead of your wallet.
The reason for all of this ranting and witty banter?

Well, they have turn on one of their own. Now, they have taken it to a more personal level by going after the little guy in a big way. Literally destroying what is left of a crumbling family. They are now suing Debbie Shank, a brain damaged ex-employee who has lost everything she has ever known. Her short term memory, her job, her son to George Bush…I mean, Iraq, and soon will be her husband who is currently suffering from cancer. Does a $90 billion dollar plus Corporation really need and extra $200,000? I know Debbie Shank could really use it about now. I guess someone needed a new indoor pool or another round of botox. Yes, Wal-Mart is well within their “legal” right. HOWEVER, I think this is a case I was sure some cold blooded grinch could possibly find a warm place in their heart to help someone under clearly extraordinary circumstances…. Believe in Karma or not. Wal-Mart is not a machine. It is controlled by people who wipe and look at it like just like me and you and their shit…believe it or not… smells like shit. Those people will have to account to their maker one day. I just hope they have a good excuse.
